Planning a photographic safari on Lower Zambezi – Zimbabwe ?

Look no further than African Bush Camps very own Kanga Camp – a private, owner-run African-based safari company offering you an authentic safari experience.
In Mana Pools National Park, Zimbabwe, African Bush Camps offer visitors a riverside experience with Zambezi Expeditions and/or an inland safari experience on a private concession at Kanga Camp.
The main area of Kanga Camp is a 12-bedded tented camp delicately built on decking around the edge of the Kanga Pan. Two of the luxury tents are Honeymoon suites or Family Units, with private dining and seating areas. A relaxing lounge area raised on decking under the shade of large trees overlooks the splash pool and pan, creating a perfect setting for the “Armchair Safari” experience, for which this camp has become well-known.
Set in the most remote part of the World Heritage Site in Mana Pools is the Kanga Pan. The 12-bedded tented camp has en-suite bathroom facilities with outdoor showers and basins overlooking the water hole. Two of the tents are a family/honeymoon tents with their own private dining and seating area. The main area has a comfortable lounge and dining area offering you uninterrupted views of a very active water hole. Relax in the upper deck lounge under the shade of a mahogany or sit on the deck below near the splash pool and enjoy Kanga − the old Africa in a new era.
Either take a game drive in open-topped four-wheel drive vehicles or walk with professional guides. The opportunity to leave the vehicle and track game on foot is an experience rare in the national parks of Africa and in Mana Pools in particular this provides the visitor with the chance to track game in safety with an experienced professional guide. Other activities include night drives and canoeing organised on request.
“Kanga under the Stars” is an outdoor wilderness sleeping experience for the more adventurous with a bedroom constructed in a purpose-built raised sleeping platform in a nearby riverbed.
Game abounds on the flood plains and in the Mopane woodlands of Mana Pools. Kanga Pan particularly attracts great game in big concentrations as it is the only water found in the floodplain above the river. The predators, including lion, wild dog and leopard are often sighted and large concentrations of buffalo can be found in the Mopane woodland and open plains studded with Ilala Palms. Kudu, zebra, impala and waterbuck can be seen on the surrounding plains. Elephant take advantage of the plentiful albida trees (Faidherbia albida – more commonly known as the Ana Tree or Winter Thorn) in the area. Bird watching is also a great attraction.
